NIT Rourkela Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering (DBME) Junior/Senior Research Fellowship 2021 is an initiative from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela for graduate/postgraduate degree holders. This fellowship is for the project titled - "Development of a Force Plate Sensor cum Kinematic Sensor Node for Comprehensive Gait Profiling for Early Detection of Locomotive Syndrome [Project code: SR/21/BM/004]" in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering. The selected candidates will receive a consolidated fellowship of up to INR 35,000.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- Hold a postgraduate degree in Basic Science OR graduate/postgraduate degree in Professional Course
- Be selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE qualified
- Be selected through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
- Hold M.E./M.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent previous research experience related to the project
Note - B. Tech/M. Tech final year students who are graduating in May/June 2021 with GATE qualification can also apply for the fellowship
Benefits The selected fellows will receive a consolidated fellowship of:
- INR 31,000 per month for 1st year and 2nd year
- INR 35,000 per month for the 3rd year

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on the merit and need of the project through an online interview.

- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- The selected candidates are expected to register for a Ph.D. degree as per Institute norms.
- Selection/Joining will be canceled in case of any suppression of the provided information/document.
- The candidates are required to produce their original certificates, grade card/mark sheets, publications & two colored passport size photographs at the time of interview/joining.
- Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee an invitation to the interview.
- The accommodation in the Institute hostel will be provided subject to availability.
