National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies 2023 is an initiative of the University Grants Commission, Government of India for students who are admitted in the first year of the postgraduate degree programme. The selected candidates will receive monthly financial assistance of ₹15,000 for 10 months for a duration of 2 years to pursue higher studies within India.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be an Indian national
- be admitted in the first year of the postgraduate degree programme in a recognised university/college/institution in India
- be below the age of 30 years as on the date of admission in the first semester/year of a PG programme
- have an annual family income less than ₹2,50,000 from all sources
The following applicants are ineligible for the scholarship scheme:
- The students who have already acquired any postgraduate degree.
- The students admitted in a PG programme through open/distance/correspondence, private or part-time mode, are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Benefits The selected scholars will receive a monthly financial allowance of ₹15,000 for 10 months for a duration of 2 years.

How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill out the form correctly; no changes can be made once it is submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill out only one application, as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria
The scholars will be selected on the basis of the merit of candidates except in case of single/twin/fraternal girl child.

Terms and Conditions
- 30% slots of scholarship are reserved for female candidates.
- 50% of the scholarship slots are available for students pursuing Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Management degrees. And 50% of the scholarship slots are available for students pursuing Science, Engineering & Technology, Medical, Technical, Agriculture, and Forestry degrees.
- The students must be pursuing postgraduate studies from the following institutions:
- Universities/Colleges/Institutions included under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 and having valid accreditation from NAAC.
- Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and having valid accreditation from NAAC.
- Institutions fully funded by Central or State Governments and empowered to award Degrees.
- Institutions of National Importance
