Kyoto University, Japan in partnership with Amgen Foundation invites applications for Kyoto University Amgen Scholars Program 2020 from undergraduate students who wish to undertake scientific research projects in science and biotechnology at Kyoto University. The program aims at providing 8-weeks of intensive research experience to the deserving candidates in the basic and translational science. A stipend of JPY 180,000 along with several other benefits is offered to the recipients.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be enrolled in colleges or universities worldwide that award a bachelor’s degree
- Have at least completed their first year of undergraduate study at the time the summer program begins
- Be not graduating before the summer program begins, and after the summer program ends will resume undergraduate studies for at least 1 semester or 1 quarter
- Have a strong academic background
- Have a good working knowledge of English, demonstrated by a minimum TOEFL (iBT) score of 72, IELTS overall band score of 5.5, Cambridge English FCE, TOEIC score of 1095, TOEIC L&R score of 785, or TOEIC S&W score of 310
- Have an interest in pursuing a PhD

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be selected based on several parameters decided by the Selection Committee.

Terms and Conditions
- In case of any change in the schedule due to personal reasons, the recipients shall be required to repay the cost of tickets (if booked).
- The recipients cannot take or hold any other course or job throughout the duration of the program and must attend the program for its entire duration.
- The recipients have to live in the accommodation provided by Kyoto University.
- The recipients are required to provide a poster/ presentation outlining their research work.
