INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme 2023-24 is an opportunity offered to students studying in Classes 6 to 10. The scheme is a flagship program implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology (Government of India) with a basic objective to instil creative/innovative thinking among school students. The scheme motivates the students to take their innovative ideas forward for prototype and product development. The selected students will receive an award of INR 10,000 (one-time).

DeadlineClosed Eligibility Under this scheme, schools can nominate the 5 best original ideas/innovations of students. The nominated student must -
- be in the age group of 10-15 years
- be studying in Class 6 to 10
Benefits The selected students will receive an award of INR 10,000 (one-time).

How can you apply? The schools can submit the nomination of a candidate by following the below-mentioned steps -
Step 1: Click the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'School Authority' option under the 'Authorised Login' option given at the top of the dashboard.
Step 4: Now, navigate to the 'For New Registration - Click Here' option and click it. (Note - The schools who are already registered, kindly login using valid credentials.)
Step 5: Fill in all the necessary details to complete the registration process.
Step 6: After successful registration, select 'Student Nomination'.
Step 7: Fill in the details of the student, upload the photograph and submit it to generate the acknowledgement.Note -
- It is advisable to use the school email id which can be used even if the authority changes.
- The application number generated can be used for future reference.

Application Deadline - 31st August 2023
Selection Criteria
The selection of ideas/innovations will be based on novelty, social applicability, environment friendliness, user-friendliness and comparative advantage over the existing similar technologies.
The 1,000 best ideas/innovations will be showcased at the National Level Exhibition & Project Competition (NLEPC) and the top 60 innovations will be shortlisted for national awards and future direction.
The top 60 ideas/innovations will be considered by NIF for product/process development and linkage with other schemes of NIF/DST. Also, it will be displayed at the Annual Festival of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (FINE).

- Submit the students' nominations before the given deadline to avoid last-minute inconvenience due to the heavy load in the E-MIAS web portal.
