Essay Writing Competition on Jan Aushadhi Generic Medicines (PMBJP) 2022 is a competition open for college/school students, pharmacy students and medical students. The themes for Essay Writing are - “Jan Aushadhi – Jan Upyogi” जन औषधि जन उपयोगी and “Uttam Dawai Kam Daam – Swasth Bharat Ki Pahchan” उत्तम दवाई कम दाम - स्वस्थ भारत की पहचान. The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), the implementing agency of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), will reward all the winners with a cash prize of INR 5,000 (First), INR 3,000 (Second) and INR 1,500 (Third) with participation certificate.

How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the competition by following the steps mentioned below:
Step 1: Click on the "Apply Now" button.
Step 2: Log in using a Google account, Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook or GitHub.
Step 3: Enter a valid mobile number and continue.
Step 4: Select the program, upload your entry and submit.Note -
- The write-up must be in PDF file format only.
- The write-up text should be submitted in a readable font (i.e 12 or 14.) and line spacing should be 1.15 only.

Selection Criteria
The entries will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria -
- Central Theme – Contextual (20%)
- Coherence and organization in structure - 20%
- Creativity - 40%
- Clarity in language expression and Style - 20%

Terms and Conditions
- The competition is open to all citizens of India only.
- Entries submitted through any other medium/mode would not be considered for evaluation.
- A participant can send one entry only. In case it is found that any participant has submitted more than one entry, all the entries will be considered as invalid.
- The entry should be original. Copied entries will not be considered under the contest.
- Anyone found infringing on others’ copyright would be disqualified from the competition. The Government of India does not bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringements of intellectual property carried out by the participants.
- Mention of the author's name/emails, etc. anywhere in the body of the essay will lead to disqualification.
- The participant is to make sure that their MyGov profile is accurate and updated since the Department of Pharmaceuticals would be using this for further communication. This includes details such as name, photo, complete postal address, email ID and phone number. Entries with incomplete profiles would not be considered.
- PMBI reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Competition and/or the Terms & Conditions/Technical Parameters/Evaluation Criteria.
- However, any changes to the Terms and Conditions/Technical Parameters/Evaluation Criteria, or cancellation of the Contest, will be updated/posted on the MyGov. platform. It would be the responsibility of the participants to keep themselves informed of any changes in the Terms & Conditions/Technical Parameters/Evaluation Criteria stated for this Contest.
