CBIC Indirect Tax Internship for Law Students 2023 is an opportunity offered by the Directorate of Legal Affairs, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India) to law students and graduates. The interns are expected to study case files, assist in legal research and drafting of petitions, briefing the counsels and extend any other related legal/general assistance to officers/counsels. The selected candidates will receive up to INR 15,000 per month and a certificate.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:

    • be pursuing a 3-year/5-year integrated LLB course
    • have completed a 3-year/5-year integrated LLB course for not more than two years
    • have appeared in a final year/semester examination on the cutoff date

     

    Note - The candidates applying as having appeared in the final year/ semester examination, will have to show proof of having passed the LLB course at the time of joining.

    Benefits

    The law students will receive a monthly stipend of INR 5,000 and law graduates will receive INR 15,000 along with a certificate.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

  • The interns will be deployed in different sections of the legal establishment in CBIC.
  • The internship will neither be a job nor an assurance of a job in the department.
  • Preference shall be given to students/graduates of reputed institutions.
  • A minimum of 15 days prior written notice is required to be submitted by letter/email to DLA if any intern wants to discontinue the internship.
  • This is a full-time internship to be attended physically and the interns are not expected to pursue any other course/work during the tenure of the internship.
