Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship 2024-25 is an opportunity offered by the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Government of India. The fellowship aims to recognise, encourage and support translational research by Individuals working in various capacities of the engineering profession in public funded institutions in the country. A total of 10 selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹25,000, an annual research grant of ₹15,00,000 and other benefits.

Deadline30-Jun-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian national or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
- be currently employed in a permanent position in the engineering field at a public-funded institution in India
- possess adequate professional qualifications
- hold at least a bachelor's degree
- have a minimum of five years of remaining service at their current institution as of the award date
- not be holding any other fellowship and must be willing to choose this fellowship if selected
Note:- Previous applicants who were not selected are eligible to re-apply provided they have at least five years of remaining service with their current employer.
Benefits A total of 10 selected candidates will receive the following benefits:-
- A monthly fellowship of ₹25,000 in addition to the regular income
- An annual research grant of ₹15,00,000
- An annual overhead of ₹1,0,000 to the host institute
Note:- The fellowship is taxable as per the IT rule of the Government of India.
How can you apply? Eligible applicants can apply for the fellowship by following the below-mentioned steps:-

Step 3: Read the details carefully, navigate to the 'Forwarding of Nominations' section at the bottom of the page and click on the given link to download the nomination form.
Step 4: Fill in therequired details and send the nomination form through email to the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) at - inaehq@inae.in

Selection Criteria
Selection for the fellowship will be conducted by a specially constituted Search-Cum-Selection Expert Committee, following the program's broad guidelines.

- Nominations can be submitted by the Heads of Institutions/Organisations, Presidents/Fellows of National Science/Engineering Academies, SS Bhatnagar Awardees and JC Bose Awardees.
- All areas of engineering, innovation, and technology are covered by this fellowship.
- The fellowship is initially for three years, with the possibility of extension for up to two additional years based on performance. The maximum duration of the fellowship is five years.
- The fellowship is taxable according to the Income Tax rules of the Government of India.
- Applicants cannot hold any other fellowship concurrently. If selected for this program, they must choose this fellowship over any others.
