The International Labour Organization (ILO) invites applications from professional journalists for Global Media Competition 2017 to recognise impeccable media report on labour migration. The main aim of this competition is to encourage unprejudiced reporting on labour migration. Applicants are to submit their entries on either of the two subjects: Labour migration aspect or Fair recruitment of migrant workers.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible for the competition, an applicant must -
- Be a professional journalist.
- Enter his/her entry in any of the three languages - English, Spanish and French.
- Entries in other languages will be accepted if the applicant presents a faithful translation in one of the three languages mentioned above.
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the competition through following steps -

Terms and Conditions
Entry requirements
- A candidate can submit a maximum of two entries under the following categories -
- Written articles (print or online articles)
- Media production (audio, video, photo journalism)
- The length of articles should not be more than 8000 words.
- The length of videos/multimedia submissions should not be more than 10 minutes.
- All submissions must have been published between January 1, 2016 and October 27, 2017.
- All entries should be able to address any of the two thematic areas - labour migration aspects and fair recruitment of migrant workers.
- All entries should be submitted in any of the three languages specified - English, Spanish and French.
- The judgement will be made by a distinguished panel of 5 judges based on creativity, accuracy and protection criteria for the entry.
