Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, Government of India invites applications for All India Essay Competition Scheme 2016. Interested students have to write an essay on the topic given and send it by post, on or before 21st January 2017.
The applicants are divided into two categories; Secondary & Senior Secondary and College, University & Institutes.
The topic for Secondary & Senior Secondary (class 9 to 12) is What Social Equality means to you:- Lessons from the life of Babu Jagjivan Ram; on this topic, students have to write an essay in 2000 words. The topic for College, University & Institutes is Empowerment of the Scheduled Cast Community:- Contribution of Babu Jagjivan Ram; on this topic, student have to write an essay in 3500 words.
The essay can either be Hindi or in English. Applicants have to send two copies; one original and one photocopy (typed or handwritten). One copy must contain applicant's name, address, topic, signature and the other copy do not contain any such particulars. There will be three winners in both the language and in both the categories. All the winners will be getting cash prize ranges from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 1,00,000.
The applicants have to download the form and bonafide certificate and send along with the essay with super scribe in the envelope "Babu Jagjivan Ram All India Essay Competition - 2016" indicating medium & category and send the Essay by post.

- Students of class 9 to 12 from recognized school
- Students of recognized college, university and Institution
How can you apply? The application can be done by post with the following steps:
Step 1: Go to the website
Step 2: Download the form.
Step 3: Read all the details given there along with the terms and conditions.
Step 4: Fill the entry form and bonafide certificate after taking the printouts.
Step 5: Bonafide certificate must contain: name, signature, email id of the Principal/ Director/ HOD along with the official seal.
Step 6: Send your entry by registered/speed post to the following address:

The main aim of this essay competition is to encourage students to write on society issues (social justice, untouchability, caste, inequality, discrimination, social democracy, integration, harmony) among youngsters. The student is expected to analyze and suggest ways to establish a stronger social democracy.
