“A.K.G Memorial Co-operative College of Nursing”, a unit of Kannur Co-operative Hospital Society Ltd.No.C-834 ,was envisioned and established in August 2008 as a memorial of Com. A.K.Gopalan (AKG).
Sri. A.K Gopalan was a renounced politician, a fabulous orator and a great Parliamentarian in the Indian history and a person who toiled throughout his life for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden.
AKGMCCON is functioning in its new building from 2010 December onwards, at Mavilayi- the native place of Sri. AKG, more over a salubrious hilly area 10km west of Kannur town, away from the buzz and pollution of Kannur City.
Adequate infrastructure facilities as per the norms of statutory bodies viz, INC, KNC and the use of modern educational technologies in the teaching - learning process is the significant feature of our institution.
Our vision is to mould a new generation with the skill, knowledge and attitude to provide comprehensive nursing care to the sick and the disabled and to bring about new innovations in the field of Nursing through quality education, practice and research.
A.K.G Memorial Co-operative College of Nursing offers Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree programme since 2008 and now which is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.The Govt. and the management of Kannur Co-operative hospital Society limited No.C 834 arrived at a consensus agreeing to the criteria of allotment, sharing of seats and fee structure, for the allotment of students to the B.Sc Nursing course. Accordingly 50%of the total seats will be filled up by the Govt. from the list prepared by the Director, L.B.S Centre in accordance with the merit and reservation principles followed by the Govt.,35%of the total seats(Management quota) will be filled up from the list of the candidates who are eligible as per the prospectus and application forms received against the notification by the Management directly in accordance with the merit in qualifying examination and the management shall also be entitled to fill up the remaining 15% seats from the list of eligible candidates who are the children /dependents of Non residential Indians. (NRI)

1. Academic
- Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education of Kerala or equivalent examination recognized by any of the universities in the state of Kerala with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology put together are eligible for admission (for SC/ST 40% marks)
- Candidates who have passed B.Sc degree (3 years course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botony or Biochemistry as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together subject to the condition that they have passed higher secondary examination, Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission.
- Eligibility certificate: Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the state of Kerala shall produce the certificate of recognition and equivalency of qualifying examination from the Kerala University of Health and Allied Sciences,Thrissur. This should be furnished at the time of interview.
2. Age
1. Applicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December 2016. No relaxation of the minimum age will be allowed.
2. Self attested copy of relevant page of school record namely S.S.L.C / ICSE/ CBSE certificate showing date of birth/ copy of birth certificate from appropriate authority should be furnished along with the application in proof of age.

The application forms and prospectus can be obtained from the college office and A.K.G Hospital, Kannur on all working days – 10 am to 5 pm, on payment of Rs. 500/- directly or by DD (Rs. 550/-) drawn in favour of Principal, A.K.G Memorial Co-operative College of Nursing, Kannur payable at Kannur.(2).Submission of application form.

Terms and Conditions
- The duly filled Application form should be sent in the stamped envelope by registered post or by speed post with A/D, or by personal delivery so as to reach the Principal’s office on or before the last date of submission .
- Belated applications will be rejected. The office will not be responsible for postal delay or any mishaps. Candidates are therefore advised to apply well advance in time.
- Certificates/ documents to be submitted along with the application.
4 Self attested copies of :-
- Course certificate issued by the head of the educational institution last attended.
- Mark list of qualifying examination.
- S.S.L.C /Birth certificate
- Selection and Admission
- Selection of the candidates for management seats will be done among the candidates who have applied through the college, based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and in the interview held by the Management.
- The Selected candidates will be informed of the date and time of admission
- The Students shall pay the fees of the first year of the course at the time of admission which will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- If any candidates discontinue the course after closing of admission, she/he has to pay the full fee of the remaining course (4years).T.C will be issued only after payments of the above amount
- The candidates are expected to produce the following documents in original at the time of admission
(a) S.S.L.C. mark list
(b) Plus two mark list
(c) 4 Passport size photograph
(d) Transfer certificate
(e) Course and Conduct Certificate issued by the head of educational institution last attended
(f) Hepatitis B vaccination certificate
