Every year National Technology Day is celebrated on 11 May being commemorated to memorize the anniversary of Shakti, the nuclear test held on 11 May 1998. The day glorifies the importance of technology in prospective growth of human mankind. On 2012', NIT, AP started to observe st th Technology Day with 1 National Students' Essay competition. The event is now regular one.

Awards : Best three essays in each category as to be decided by a board of Jury will be awarded certificates of merit with cash prizes of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 2000/- respectively for 1st , 2nd and 3rd winners subject to presentation.
