About The Program

Zhengzhou University (ZZU) would like to enhance international exchange & cooperation and encourage more excellent international students to study, and hence introduced Zhengzhou University President Scholarship. The scholarship aims to sponsor international postgraduate students to pursue their degree, especially the Doctor degree, in Zhengzhou University. The duration of the scholarhip varies from 3 to 4 years according to the duration of the full-time Master and Doctor program.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a non-Chinese citizen, physically healthy, and without a criminal record
  • Abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China as well as regulations of ZZU
  • Have a good learning attitude and academic performance
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or higher degree or equivalent degree and be aged less than 35 years (for postgraduate admissions)
  • Have a Master's degree or higher degree or equivalent degree and be aged less than 45 years old
  • Have scored 210 or higher in HSK Level 5 in New HSK Examination (for courses taught in Chinese)
  • Have obtained 6.5 or higher or equivalent level in IELTS (for courses taught in English)
Benefits

The students will receive the following benefits:

  • For Master Program students
    • Full or partial tuition fee coverage
    • No accommodation
    • No stipend
  • For Doctor Program students
    • Full tuition fee coverage
    • CNY 750 per month for accommodation
    • CNY 3,500 per month as stipend
Documents
  • Original or notarized copies of the highest degree
  • Provide original or notarized copies of bachelor study transcripts for Master's courses, and for doctoral programs - bachelor and master study transcripts
  • Master program applicant should show study plans of 800 words, and for doctoral programs must provide a research proposal of 2000 words written in Chinese or English
  • Two letters of recommendation from associate professors or professors respectively written in Chinese or English
  • Official test results of Chinese or English language
  • Original copies of Foreigner Physical Examination Form and blood test reports, filled in Chinese or English
  • Original copies of certificates of no criminal record

Terms and Conditions
  • The teaching language is Chinese, and some programs are taught in English.
  • Registration fee, textbooks, thesis defence, medical check-up, medical insurance, etc are afforded by students themselves.
  • Applicants who have won the Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarships, scholarships of foreign authorities are not allowed to apply.
  • ZZU will assess all application documents and announce the results of scholarship 4-6 weeks after the deadline of submission.
