About The Program
UNESCO Communications and Public Engagement Internship 2026 is offered by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). This internship opportunity is open to students and recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in communications, social media, web management, press relations, photography, and publishing at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Selected applicants will work with the Division for Communications and Public Engagement and assist in projects that give visibility to the Organization's activities across digital and traditional platforms.
EligibilityDeadline Date: 31-Dec-2026
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be at least 20 years old at the time of application
- be enrolled in the 3rd (third) year or final year of a Bachelor's degree; OR
- be enrolled in a second university degree, Master's, or PhD degree or equivalent; OR
- have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree within the last 12 months (as per the diploma completion date)
- if applying for a technical/vocational assignment, be enrolled in a specialized technical/vocational institution and be in the final year of study, or have graduated within the last 12 months
- have an excellent command, both written and spoken, of English or French
- have knowledge of computer systems and office-related software
- possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
Benefits
The selected applicants will receive the following benefits:
- Gain hands-on experience in social media, web management, press relations, photography, and publishing at UNESCO Headquarters
- Internship duration of 1 to 6 months
- 2.5 days of leave per month, plus an additional 1 working day per complete month of internship
- Limited workplace insurance coverage against risk of injury, illness, disability, or death incurred during the internship and directly attributable to its execution
Note: UNESCO does not remunerate interns. There is no compensation, financial or otherwise, for internship assignments.
