About The Program
The inStem Summer Research Fellowships program (SuRF) 2026, is an initiative by the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. This fellowship will allow students to enhance their experimental skills in a duration of 10-week-long summer research internship program. The selected students will receive variable benefits.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must be students:
- Entering the 2nd year of M.Sc. or M.Tech or
- Entering 4th year of 4-year B.Sc. (Hons.) or 4-year B.Tech or 4-year B.Pharm or
- Entering 5th year of 5-year Integrated B.Sc./M.Sc. or B.Tech/M.Tech or
- Entering 3rd or 4th year of 5-year M.B.B.S
Note:- Preference will be given to students in the life sciences fields. Students have to be currently enrolled in their program.

- Fellows will conduct supervised research projects within designated inStem laboratories
- Opportunities to attend research presentations by leading scientists from prominent institutions will be provided.
- Fellows will present their research findings to the inStem community through brief presentations.
- Upon successful completion, fellows will be awarded an internship certificate.
