About The Program
Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Minorities, West Bengal 2025-26 is offered by the Government of West Bengal under the West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) for the welfare of the minority students. It extends financial support to deserving minority students pursuing formal education from the higher secondary level through postgraduation, including diploma and professional courses like Diploma (Polytechnic), Diploma in Pharmacy, B.Ed.,D.L.ED, M.Ed. etc. The scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on economically weaker minority families while encouraging academic excellence. Selected students will receive an award of up to ₹60,000.

To be considered, an applicant must:
For Fresh Applicants:
- be a permanent resident of West Bengal
- be currently studying in a recognized institution located within West Bengal
- have passed their most recent qualifying examination in the current academic year from a board/university affiliated to WBBSE, WBCHSE, WBBME, CBSE, ISC, or any university recognized by the West Bengal government
- Annual household income must not exceed ₹2,50,000. An income certificate must be issued by a State or Central Government officer of rank not below Joint Block Development Officer (Jt. B.D.O.)
- Minimum marks required in the last Examination -
- 60% for Higher Secondary to the Graduation level,
- 53% for Post-graduation level &Honours subject at Graduation level, and
- 55% for the Graduation Level in the case of engineering students.
For Renewal Applicants:
- For Higher Secondary Level to Undergraduate Level -Minimum 60% marks (combining both semesters)
- For Post Graduate Level-50% marks (combining both semesters)

Selected students will receive an award of up to ₹60,000.

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.

Step 3: Click on ‘Student Panel’.
Step 4: Click on ‘Fresh Registration’ for the new students. And for renewal registration, click on ‘Renew Your Application 2025-26’.
Step 5: Select the ‘District of your Institute’.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and proceed with your application.
Note: The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same, duly signed by him/her, to the respective institution with a copy of the Bank Passbook.
