About The Program
The National Fellowship for OBC Students 2026 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment under the Scholarships for Higher Education for Young Achievers Scheme. Selected candidates will receive up to ₹42,000 monthly with HRA.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- belong to the Other Backwards Classes (OBC) category
- be pursuing a full-time M.Phil/Ph.D. from a recognised institution
- be among the top performers in the UGC-NET/CISR-UGC-NET examinations
Benefits
| Science, Social Science and Humanities | Fellowship of ₹37,000 per month and Contingency of ₹10,000 per annum for 2 years (JRF) Fellowship of ₹42,000 per month and Contingency of ₹20,500 per annum for the remaining (SRF) |
| Engineering and Technology | Fellowship of ₹37,000 per month and Contingency of ₹12,000 per annum for 2 years (JRF) Fellowship of ₹42,000 per month and Contingency of ₹25,000 per annum for the remaining (SRF) |
| Escorts/Readers' assistance (all subjects) | ₹2,000 per month for physically/visually handicapped students |
