About The Program

The Raman–Charpak Fellowship Programme 2025 is jointly offered by the Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (CEFIPRA) to promote high-quality research collaboration between India and France. The fellowship supports PhD students from India and France to carry out part of their doctoral research work in the partner country. Selected students will receive an award of up to EUR 1,710 per month along with other benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a citizen of India residing in India
  • be registered for a PhD in a recognised university or research institution in India
  • be 30 years old or below
  • have pre-authorisation or prior consent from their institute/university to apply for a foreign fellowship programme


Note:-

  • Applicants must not have previously availed of any similar international fellowship.
  • The host institution/university of Indian applicants must be in France.
  • PhD students in their 2nd year or 3rd year can apply for the fellowship.
Benefits

Selected fellows will receive a monthly fellowship support of EUR 1,710 (approx. ₹1,75,731) covering daily expenses, local travel, and accommodation.
