About The Program
The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), through its Corporate Sports Division, has invited applications for the ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme 2026-27 under the podium aspirants category. The scheme aims to support promising Indian sportspersons across 19 sporting disciplines, including athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, cricket, football, hockey, etc. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship amount of up to ₹70,000.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian citizen
- be between 18 and 30 years; date of birth must fall between 1 September 1996 and 1 September 2008
- have parent income not exceeding ₹30 lakh per annum
- not be employed, or receiving any scholarship/stipend/contract, from any Central Government, State Government, Public Sector Enterprise, foundation, or private organisation
- have participated in tournaments held between 1 January 2025 and the last date of application submission; participants of the last Olympic and Asian Games will also be considered
Benefits
The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:
- Monthly scholarship of ₹40,000 to ₹70,000, depending on the sportsperson's level of achievement (e.g., National Championship medal, Asian/Commonwealth/World participation, Olympic-level medal, etc.)
- Scholarship awarded for one year, extendable up to three years based on annual performance
- Opportunity to represent ONGC in domestic tournaments, with TA/DA and other necessary expenses paid for participation
- Playing kits provided to sportspersons representing ONGC
- Individual health/accident insurance cover of ₹5,00,000 to cover illness/injury expenses, or reimbursement of self-insurance premium up to ₹7,000 per annum
- Scholarship amount disbursed monthly via online transfer directly to the sportsperson's bank account

- Sportspersons will participate in tournaments, championships, training camps, events, and activities as and when nominated by ONGC.
- Sportspersons must wear ONGC branding/logo on their sports attire wherever permitted.
- Sportspersons must maintain discipline, professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
- Any act of misconduct, indiscipline, doping violation, or breach of ONGC's Code of Conduct will result in immediate suspension or termination of the scholarship.
- Sportspersons must promptly inform ONGC of any change in eligibility status, injury, suspension, or other circumstances affecting continuation of the scholarship.
- ONGC will not be liable for, and will not indemnify, any loss, damage, injury, or disability caused to a scholarship recipient while performing any sports activity.
- Names of selected candidates will be published on the ONGC website at least one month before the release of the scholarship payment.
