NSP Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students 2022-23 is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India for Class 12 passed students who are studying in college/university. The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from poor families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. The selected candidates will receive scholarships of up to INR 20,000 per annum.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be pursuing a regular course at college/institution recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and respective regulatory bodies concerned
- have secured 80th percentile or above in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class 12 of (10+2) pattern or equivalent
- have an annual family income of not more than INR 8,00,000 from all sources
- not be receiving any other scholarship
Note: Students pursuing degree courses through distance mode or correspondence and diploma courses are not eligible.
Benefits The students selected for this scholarship are provided financial support which varies depending on their education level.
- Graduation level - INR 10,000 per annum for the first three years of college and university courses
- Postgraduation level - INR 20,000 per annum
- For 5-year professional course/integrated course - INR 20,000 per annum will be provided in the 4th and 5th years
- For technical courses such as B.E./B.Tech. degree up to graduation level - INR 12,000 per annum for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year and INR 20,000 in the 4th year
Note - The rate of scholarship is INR 10,000 per annum for the first three years of fresh/renewal scholarships with respect to the academic year 2021-22, even if the actual release happens in FY 2022-23.
Documents - Aadhaar card (Note - In case aadhaar the applicant doesn't have Aadhaar card, alternatives like Aadhaar enrolment Id slip, an application made for Aadhaar enrolment, voter ID card, driving license, PAN, passport, etc., can be used.)

How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner'and click on 'New Registration'.
Step 3: Now click on 'Click here for other Scholarship Schemes hosted on NSP for AY 2022-23'.
Step 4: Read the guidelines carefully, select the undertaking, and 'Continue'.
Step 5: Select the state of domicile, scholarship category (Pre Matric), scheme type (scholarship scheme), gender, and write the applicant's name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
Step 6: Provide the bank details (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number)
Step 7: Select Aadhaar or Bank Account Number as identification detail and click on the 'Register' button.
Step 8: The mobile number will be verified and an OTP will be generated.
Step 9: Now, log in using OTP and fill out the application form.
Step 10: After successful submission of the application form, an application ID and password will be generated which can be used for future references.Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Scholarship Closing Date: 31st December 2022
Last Date for Defect Verification: 15th January 2023
Last Date for Institute Verification: 15th January 2023
Selection Criteria
Students will be selected based on the merit list as per the state-allocated quota. The applications of the candidates will be verified at two distinctive levels -
- The Institute where the student is studying
- The respective State Education Board or any other agency/official nominated by the State as a State Nodal Agency

Terms and Conditions
- The students belonging to reserved categories/minorities/weaker sections are eligible for reservation on the basis of merit, subject to Central Reservation Policy and internal earmarking.
- The students must have their bank accounts opened in their name for availing the benefits under the scheme.
- The applications which are not verified either by the Institute or by the concerned State Education Board or by both will be treated as 'Invalid'.
- The total duration of the scholarship will not be exceeding 5 years.
- 50% of the total scholarships are reserved for girl candidates.
- The students will not be permanently debarred for scholarships due to delays to renew or verification. However, students will have to submit renewal applications within a cut-off date. Renewal for that year will not be allowed if an applicant misses this deadline.
- The number of scholarships allotted to a State Education Board is distributed amongst pass outs of the Humanities, Science and Commerce stream in the ratio of 3:3:1.

Dear Student,
The applications for Central Sector Scholarships have recently closed. It may take one to one-and-a-half months for the scholarships to be disbursed.

Good Evening sir, I'm M.Saisriya present pursuing PG 2nd year. Due to corona just we got a Degree 3years scholarship but we didn't yet get pg 1st yr scholarship due to the finish of the scheme last date and pg 1syr joining not being processed. we asked TSBIE to solve the problem but they refused & higher officials even said "we are sorry".we kindly request us to provide pg 2nd yr renewal option to get even 1yr scholarship
