About The Program

NHRC Online Short-Term Internship Programme 2025 is an initiative by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for graduate and postgraduate students. The Internship is spreading awareness among the students of the University about the need for the protection and promotion of Human Rights, the Commission has been conducting internship programs regularly since 1998. The selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹2,000 plus other benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • not exceed the age of 28 years as of 1st February 2025
  • be pursuing studies in one of the following:
    • 3rd year and onwards of an integrated 5 year PG course
    • 3rd/final year of a graduation course
    • any semester/year of any postgraduate degree course (including 3-year LLB programs)
    • any semester/year of any postgraduate diploma course
    • research scholars in any stream
  • have secured a minimum of 60% marks in class 12 and all the examinations thereafter

Note:-

  • The calculated percentage must be mentioned clearly from their CGPA/SGPA along with the formula for the percentage obtained. Failure to do so will result in the rejection of the application form.
  • Applicants with research potential in the feilds of human rights will receive preference.
  • Interns of the previous NHRC internships are ineligible to apply again.
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive:-

  • A stipend of ₹2,000 (one-time).
  • A certificate of participation.

Note:- The certificate of participation will be awarded to the candidates on the basis of the following parameters:

  • Attendance, Punctuality, Discipline, and Participation in online sessions is mandatory;
  • Project Presentation & Project Reports and Book Review have to be submitted timely.
Documents
  • Passport-sized photograph of the applicant (size not exceeding 100 KB)
  • Certificate of class 10
  • Certificate and mark sheet of class 12
  • Certificate and mark sheet of Graduation (if completed)
  • Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination
  • I-Card of currently pursuing course at the present institution
  • Recommendation letter of Principal/ Dean/ HoD from the institution where presently pursuing the course
  • 250 words write-up on the topic: 'Statements of purpose for joining NHRC Online Short Term Internship'

Note:- Documents other than the photograph must not exceed the file size of 2 MB.

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply by following these steps:-

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.

Step 3: Click 'Apply Now', read all the information thoroughly and select the 'No' option. Then click 'Proceed'.
Step 4: Enter the necessary details and the OTP, then click 'Submit'.
Step 5: Fill in the required information, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.
