About The Program
NCW Young Research Fellowship 2026 is offered by the National Commission for Women. This fellowship is a prestigious research grant designed to support young scholars conducting research on women's issues in India. Selected candidates will receive a ₹1,00,000 research grant over 6 months to complete their research study.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be an Indian citizen
- be between 21 and 30 years of age at the time of application
- hold at least a graduate degree from a recognised academic or research institution
- be enrolled in or have completed a master's, M.Phil., or Ph.D. program in a relevant field
Note:
- Preference will be given to applicants who have completed or are pursuing post-graduation in a relevant field.
- Independent researchers who have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised academic or research institution may also apply.
Benefits
Selected fellows will receive a research grant of ₹1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh only) disbursed in three phases based on deliverables:
- First Instalment: ₹30,000
- Second Instalment: ₹40,000
- Final Instalment: ₹30,000

Terms and Conditions
- The fellowship duration is 6 months.
- Fellows must submit monthly progress reports.
- The fellowship is non-transferable and must be carried out exclusively by the selected fellow.
- Fellows must acknowledge NCW support in all publications.
- Plagiarism or misrepresentation will lead to immediate cancellation.
