About The Program

Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS), Kerala 2024-25 is an initiative of the Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala, for students belonging to minority religious communities of the state and pursuing a diploma in nursing and paramedical course from a government, government-aided, and government recognised private institution. This scheme aims to support higher education of students belonging to the minority communities. The selected students will receive an award of ₹15,000 per annum.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • be domiciled in Kerala 
  • belong to the Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi, Jain communities
  • have received seats in nursing or paramedical courses (on merit basis)
  • must have secured 45% marks or more in qualifying examination
  • have annual family income less than ₹8,00,000 from all sources (if belongs to Above Poverty Line category)

Note:- For students belonging to the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category there is no income criteria. 

Benefits

The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of ₹15,000 per annum. 

Note:- 50% of scholarship has been reserved for female students. If a certain percentage of female candidates are not available then male students are eligible for the scholarship.

  • Copy of mark list of SSLC, PLASTA/VHSE etc.
  • Copy of allotment memo
  • First page of bank passbook in applicant's own name (including Name, Account Number, Branch Code, Branch Address).
  • Copy of aadhaar card or NPR card.
  • Copy of nativity certificate
  • Copy of community certificate or minority certificate
  • Income certificate (Assal) from village office
  • Copy of ration card

For the attention of Heads of Institutions:

  • Verification of the tasks submitted by the applicants.
  • Verification completed applications must be approved online by the head of the institution.
  • Income Certificate (ASSAL) and allotment memo enclosed with the application.
  • The head of the institution should ensure the status of all documents.
  • The bank account related documents (Account No, IFSC Code, Bank with Branch Name (latest)) should be verified by the head of the institution separately.
  • Applications must be scrutinized and approved by the Head of Institution by the date specified in the notification.
     
How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship using the steps listed below:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below and read all details.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note: If already registered, log in using the registered email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS), Kerala' on the left side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Now, click on the 'Apply Now' button below to visit the online registration portal. 
Step 5: Fill in all the required details including personal details, educational details, and bank details. 
Step 6: Create a password for future login. 
Step 7: Accept the terms and conditions mentioned in the declaration and submit the application. 
Step 8: Click on 'Candidate Login' using the ID and password generated during registration.
Step 9: Upload the photo, signature, and other relevant documents and take a printout of the application.
Step 10: Sign and submit it with requisite/supporting documents to the institution.

  • Application Submission for Self-Help Institutions: Applications from self-help institutions should be forwarded to the Directorate of Minority Welfare at the specified address.
  • Online Verification: Online verification and approval of applications will be conducted at the respective institutions (Government/Aided).
