About The Program

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) Internship Scheme 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) for undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral students, as well as research scholars, to gain valuable experience. Interns will be placed within program divisions of the MoPR working on the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) initiative. They will be expected to utilise an evidence-based approach to conduct work related to various thematic interventions under the RGSA scheme. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹7,000 and a certificate of completion.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be pursuing graduation/postgraduation/research courses/doctoral (Ph.D.)/postdoctoral degree from any recognized university/institution within India or abroad OR
  • have completed any of the following courses from India or abroad within the last two years:

    • Social Policy Studies
    • Development Studies
    • Economics
    • Governance and Public Administration Studies
    • Rural Development Management
    • Business Administration
    • Environment and Energy Studies
    • Public Health Studies

Benefits

The selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹7,000 and a certificate of completion. Additionally, they will also be provided with a workspace, internet access, library privileges, and other essential resources for the duration of their internship.

How can you apply?

Eligible aaplicants can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to the 'Register Yourself' at the top of the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it. 
Step 4: After successful registration, click on 'Apply for Service' and log in using valid credentials. Fill in the required details and click on the 'Submit'.
Step 5: Now, click on 'View Services' and then click on 'Apply'.
Step 6: Fill in the details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Application Deadline: 31st March 2026

The MoPR Internship Program is offered year-round based on departmental needs. However, the preferred application windows are from mid-October to the first week of December and mid-June to the third week of August.

Selection Criteria

The applications will be sent to the department head of MoPR for scrutiny and shortlisting. Thereafter a committee will be formed to select the final candidates based on merit and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
  • The internship period must be a minimum of four (4) weeks and cannot exceed six (6) months.
  • Interns must fulfill the required internship period to be eligible for a certificate of completion.
  • Students can apply only once per calendar year. Applications are valid for the entire year in which they are submitted.
  • Interns are required to clearly indicate their area of interest in the application form.
  • Upon selection, interns will be required to submit a letter from their supervisor/Head of Department/Principal verifying their student status and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) permitting their participation in the internship program for the designated period.
  • Completion certificates will only be issued upon successful completion of the internship program. Interns who do not complete the required internship period will not receive experience certificates.
  • MoPR will cover any necessary travel expenses incurred by interns for field visits or research.
  • MoPR reserves the right to review interns' work at any time. Selected work may be published on the official MoPR website.
  • The MoPR Secretary holds the discretion to modify any rule or condition of the internship program.
