About The Program
The Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, West Bengal 2025-26 is offered by the Government of West Bengal under the West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) for the welfare of the minority students. It is designed to assist students from minority communities who have secured admission in professional or technical programmes at the graduation or post-graduation level at institutions within West Bengal that are affiliated to any board or university under the Government of West Bengal. Selected students will receive an award of ₹33,000.
EligibilityDeadline Date: 31-May-2026
To be considered, an applicant must:
- be a permanent resident (domicile) of West Bengal
- have obtained admission in a recognised professional or technical course
- secured a minimum of 50% marks in the Higher Secondary or Graduation examination, whichever was most recently completed
- annual family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000
- be located within West Bengal and affiliated to a board/university under the Government of West Bengal

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:

Step 4: Click on ‘Fresh Registration’ for the new students.

Step 6: Fill in the required details and proceed with your application.
Note: The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same, duly signed by him/her, to the respective institution with a copy of the Bank Passbook.
