About The Program
The Mass Communication Internship Program 2025-26 is offered by the Ministry of Jal Shakti to support exceptional students from India pursuing Ph.D. studies in India. The scholarship provides financial assistance for maintenance, tuition, and research-related expenses for up to two years. Selected students will receive an award of up to ₹33,000 per month.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian national
- hold a first-class postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks in both graduate and postgraduate examinations
- be registered/admitted for a Ph.D. degree at a recognised university or institution in India at the time of application
- be a full-time Ph.D. scholar
- not be more than 35 years of age as of 1st October of the year of selection
- belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender categories, women, and armed forces personnel are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5 years as per norms
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive:-
- Maintenance Allowance (including tuition): ₹18,000 per month
- Contingent Expenses: ₹15,000 per annum (for study tours, books, and stationery)
Note:- The duration of the fellowship is 6 months, extendable up to 3 extra months.

- Scholarship recipients cannot receive any other fellowship/scholarship simultaneously.
- Selected candidates must submit undertakings confirming they are not benefiting from other scholarships.
- The university must also certify that the candidate is not receiving another fellowship.
- Violation of terms will result in termination and refund of the disbursed amount.
- First disbursement will be made only after submission of all undertakings.
