Lakshadweep Scholarship Scheme 2023-24 is an initiative of the Government of UT of Lakshadweep to financially help the students of the state pursuing post-matric education. The scholarship aims to ensure that no student is prevented on the grounds of poverty alone from pursuing an academic career. The selected students will receive a monthly scholarship of up to ₹3000, an annual lump sum grant, and other benefits.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:
- be a domicile of Lakshadweep
- be pursuing studies at the post-matric level (Class 11 and above) from a recognised institution of the state
- have cleared matriculation or higher secondary or any higher examination from a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education
Benefits The selected students will receive the benefits as follows:
Name of the course Monthly rate (in ₹) Annual lumpsum grant Pre-degree course, post-matric certificate courses, post-matric diploma courses, degree courses in Arts/Science/Commerce and courses like B.Ed/L.L.B, etc. 1,800 1,500 Postgraduate courses in Arts/Science/Commerce, Law, etc. 2,100 1,800 M.B.B.S/B.D.S., Engineering degree, MBA, BVSc, BSc (Agriculture), etc. 2,100 3,600 Postgraduate courses in Medicine, Engineering, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, etc, and Research studies like Ph.D. 3,000 9,000 High school course and similar equivalent 1,200 - Primary school course (Class 1 to 7) 600 - Secondary school courses (Class 8 to 10) 200 - Class 12 students to whom course facilities are available on the UT of which the student is a native 450 - For students of Bitra Island studying in Secondary standard in other islands 450 - Students of plus 2 courses who belong to other islands than where the institutions are situated and staying outside the hostel for want of hostel accommodation 750 - Students of high school staying outside the hostel for want of accommodation in the hostel 600 - Pocket money (per month) for petty expenses like washing charges, soap, oil, etc. for Lakshwadeep students studying for post-matric certificate courses, degree courses, postgraduate courses, professional courses, and research studies. 50 - Daily allowance payable in advance through the Head of Institution for maintenance during holidays for Onam, Christmas, etc. 50 - Documents - Income certificate
- Domicile certificate
- A passport-size photograph
- Aadhaar card/enrolment ID
- Certificate/degree/diploma for all the examinations passed
- Student's bank account number and IFSC code of the bank branch
How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria
Selection will be based on the basis of the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria and the results of the following examinations:
- Class 7 examination of High/Higher Secondary Schools
- School leaving examinations/viz. Matriculations, High/Higher Secondary Leave examination
- P.D.C. or equivalent University examinations viz. Pre-professional examinations
- First-degree examinations, viz. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.Sc.(Agri) examinations

Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship once cancelled or forfeited will not be restored.
- The scholarship will be awarded from year to year subject to satisfactory academic progress and regular attendance.
- In order for students from the island to be eligible for benefits under the scheme for research and postgraduate technical courses, they must not receive any other scholarship or fellowship.
- The scholarship is renewable for each successive year on the basis of the annual progress report (submitted by the Head of the institution from where the scholar is studying).
