About The Program

The John Jay College Creativity Assistant Scholarships is an opportunity offered by the Office for Student Research & Creativity (OSRC), John Jay College of Criminal Justice to undergraduate and graduate students. This scholarship provides an opportunity to the students to conduct research or engage in creative work with a faculty of the John Jay College. The selected candidates shall receive a scholarship of $1,000.

 

EligibilityDeadline Date: 01-May-2026

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be enrolled at JJC for the entire duration of the scholarship (fall through spring of the respective academic year).
  • be pursuing any major but not receive support from another John Jay research program (MSRG, PRISM, McNair, etc.) for the same research project.
  • have a committed faculty mentor before submitting the application essay.
Benefits

The selected candidates shall receive a scholarship of $1,000.

Eligible candidates can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1:

Additionally, all the application essays and accompanying faculty letters must be emailed to Bettina Muenster at osrc@jjay.cuny.edu.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are selected based on their application, the essays they submit, and the letter of support from their faculty members. 

Terms and Conditions
  • Applicants must schedule an appointment with the Assistant Director of OSRC at least three weeks before the application deadline if assistance is needed in finding a faculty mentor.
  • They must obtain a letter of support from the JJC faculty member serving as mentor.
  • They also need to ensure that the student essay and faculty mentor letter align in content, demonstrating a shared understanding of the project as outlined in the criteria.
