About The Program
Inland Waterways Authority of India Winter Internship Program 2025-26 is an opportunity provided by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to students pursuing or who have completed a Graduate/PG degree or research scholars from a recognised University. This 1 to 3-month internship provides an opportunity for the students to understand the overall process of development of the Inland Waterways Transport(IWT) of India at the macro level. The selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of up to ₹20,000.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be pursuing or have completed their Graduation or Post-Graduation from universities or institutions of national and international repute
- have obtained at least:
- 75% marks in the class 12th examination (for applicants pursuing graduation)
- 60% marks in the graduation degree (for applicants pursuing post-graduation)
- 60% marks in the post-graduation (for Research Scholars)
Benefits
The selected candidate will receive:-
- A stipend of ₹10,000 for UG studies and ₹20,000 for research scholars and students pursuing post-graduation.
- Experience certificate.
- If travel is required for the work assigned, interns will be reimbursed for the expenses as per the entitlement of the Technical Assistant at IWAI.
- Working space.
Note:-
- Interns must have their own laptop.
- Accommodation is not provided.

Terms and Conditions
- In case the performance of the candidate is not up to the mark, IWAI can terminate the internship by giving one month's notice.
- IWAI shall not provide accommodation to interns.
- A maximum of 25 interns (10 pursuing undergraduate and 15 pursuing post-graduation/Research scholars) shall be selected for the year 2025-26.
- Interns shall be attached to one officer at the level of Director/Deputy Director at the concerned Division.
- At the end of the internship, the candidate shall submit a report/paper to the concerned Head of Division. Providing feedback on their experience of the programme is mandatory.
- The internship can be extended to a maximum period of 6 months in exceptional cases.
