About The Program

Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM), 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Mathematics Teachers' Association of India, for students pursuing classes 8 to 12. The olympiad is multiple-staged, where students compete internationally and nationally. Students who qualify for the IOQM will be selected for the subsequent stages. In addition, students will get exposure to advanced mathematics. Selected candidates will be eligible to proceed to the next stage of examination in the olympiad.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be born between 1 August 2006 and 31 July 2013
  • be pursuing studies in classes 8,9,10,11, or 12
  • be eligible to hold an Indian passport
  • be living and studying in India since 30 October 2023 or earlier, OR
  • be studying in the Indian school system since 30 October 2023 or earlier
  • not have passed (or be scheduled to appear for) the class 12 board examination before October 30, 2025
  • not have started (or planning to start) studies at a university or equivalent institution before June 1, 2026

Note:-

  • Students born on or after 1st August 2013 are not eligible.
  • Students residing abroad and studying under an Indian school system must travel to India for IOQM 2025.
  • Travel costs from both directions will have to be borne by the student.
  • Students who have already appeared in the class 12 final examination are ineligible. Attempts to bypass this rule will result in disqualification.
  • If a student is residing abroad and studying in an Indian school system, they must come to India to write the IOQM 2025 and subsequent stages (Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) 2025 and Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO) 2026) if they qualify. These students will be considered as enrolled from Delhi-NCR, and the same selection criteria for RMO 2025 and INMO 2026 will apply to them as to any student residing and studying in India who has enrolled from Delhi-NCR. Students must bear the expenses for travel to and from India.
  • As per orders of the Madras High Court, students with OCI status are not eligible for selection to the Indian team for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), or Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO). However, such students may be provisionally eligible for selection at all prior stages, up to and including the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) and the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (EGMOTC), provided they meet all other criteria. These students are also provisionally eligible to take the selection tests at the IMOTC and EGMOTC. This policy is subject to change without prior notice, depending on any further orders issued by the courts or a competent government authority.

Eligible applicants can follow these steps to apply:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to 'Register' (Note:- If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.) 
Step 3: Click on ‘Register’ and fill in the required details, then click on ‘Generate OTP’.
Step 4: Enter the OTP from mobile number and email and click on ‘Register’.
Step 5: Fill in the required information, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will have to score a minimum of 10% of the total marks to be considered for the next stage of the olympiad.
