About The Program

The IIT Internship Program for Students from Ladakh 2026-27 is offered by the Government of UT Ladakh in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay. This program is a meaningful opportunity for students from Ladakh to work alongside leading researchers and faculty at India's top engineering institutions. Selected students will receive an award of up to ₹15,000.

The internship is open for two categories:

  •  Short Term Internship
  •  Long Term Internship

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a recent graduate from Ladakh in any area of Engineering, Sciences, or Humanities & Social Sciences
  • be currently enrolled in or have completed a UG degree (or Polytechnic Diploma) from any college in UT Ladakh — OR be a permanent resident of UT Ladakh studying or having studied at a college elsewhere
  • have a minimum academic score of 60% or 6.00 CGPA (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD candidates)
  • have completed at least the 2nd year of their UG program, or have recently graduated

Note:- Students must provide proof of current enrolment (NOC from parent institution) or their final degree certificate, along with proof of permanent residence in Ladakh — such as an Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or any other government-issued document.

Benefits

Selected students will get the benefits based on their internship category:

  • For Short Term Category: ₹15,000
  • For Long Term Category: ₹10,000
  • The Government of UT Ladakh will provide a sponsorship certificate upon selection.

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
