About The Program

The IIIT Hyderabad Amgen Scholars Program 2026 is an opportunity offered by Amgen India and Harvard University to undergraduate students from Asian countries. The selected candidates shall receive a stipend of USD 2,000 (₹1,77,403 approx.) and other benefits.

EligibilityDeadline Date: 01-Feb-2026

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be enrolled as an undergraduate (or equivalent) at a university in an eligible Asian country or area
  • return to home institution for at least one semester to continue undergraduate studies after completing the program
  • have completed at least one year of undergraduate study by June 7, 2026.
  • Be pursuing an undergraduate program may be in any discipline, but must include mathematics as a subject.
  • be available to attend full-time from June 7 to August 6, 2026, with no other engagements during this period.
  • have good working knowledge of English, demonstrated by either:
  • All undergraduate courses taught in English, or
  • Acceptable scores in one of the following tests:
    • TOEFL iBT: 72 or above
    • IELTS: 5.5 overall band score or above
    • Cambridge English FCE
    • TOEIC: 1095 or above
    • TOEIC L&R: 785 or above
    • TOEIC S&W: 310 or above
Benefits

The selected candidates shall receive:

  • a stipend of USD 2,000 (₹1,77,403 approx.), disbursed in two installments: half at the commencement of the program and the remaining half upon conclusion.
  • economy class airfare for travel from the home institution city to Hyderabad, from Hyderabad to Tokyo, and for the return journey from Tokyo to the home institution city.
  • on-campus accommodation for the duration of the program
  • meals or a food allowance

  • All intellectual property resulting from research conducted during the program shall be assigned to IIIT Hyderabad.
  • Participants are responsible for applying for the necessary visa to enter the country and for obtaining travel insurance covering the entire duration of the program, at their own expense.
