HSCST Fellowship Programme, Haryana 2022-23 is an opportunity offered by the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation and Technology (HSCSIT), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to M.Sc. or equivalent degree holders in subjects such as – Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences etc. The selected candidates will receive up to INR 35,000 per month.

  • HSCST Fellowship Programme, Haryana 2022-23

    To be eligible, an applicant must –

    • be a citizen of India
    • be below 28 years of age as on 1st January 2021 (Note - Relaxation of up to 5 years will be given to candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes, Women, Physically Handicapped and OBC applicants)
    • hold M.Sc. or equivalent degree or equivalent degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences etc.
    • have secured a minimum of 55% marks 
    • have qualified JRF-NET (CSIR/UGC) & LS-NET in joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in 2019

    The selected candidates will receive the awards in the following sequence:

    • Candidates who have qualified JRF-NET (CSIR/UGC) will be given a fellowship at par with CSIR/UGC i.e., INR 31,000 per month for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and INR 35,000 for Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
    • Candidates who have qualified LSNET will be given a fellowship at existing rates for both CSIR/UGC with a preference for CSIR i.e., INR 18,000 per month for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and INR 21,000 per month for Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
    • The fellowship will carry an annual contingency grant of INR 20,000 which will be provided to the university/institution.
    • A government-issued identity proof (Aadhaar card/voter identity card/driving license/PAN card).
    • Matriculation Certificate
    • Caste Certificate for reserved category
    • CSIR ‐ JRF or CSIR LS ‐ NET certificate
    • Scanned passport-size photograph
    • M.Sc. final year certificate
    • Scanned signature of student
    • Proof in case of physically handicapped
    How can you apply?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship by following the steps mentioned below -
    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below and read all details. 
    Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email Id.)
    Step 3: Click on the 'Apply online for HSCST Fellowship'.
    Step 4: Now, click on 'New User/Register Here' on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
    Step 5: Fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, kindly login using valid credentails.)
    Step 6: After successful registration, click on 'Apply for Services' and select the application form for HSCST Fellowship.
    Step 7: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Important Dates

Application Start Date – 9th November 2022
Application End Date – 30th December 2022

Selection Criteria

The candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR twice a year generally in the months of June and December.

The fellowships will be awarded to the meritorious candidates who have qualified JRFNET (CSIR/UGC) & LS-NET in the Joint CSIR-UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for lectureship (NET) for carrying out their Ph. D. work in any of the university/institute in Haryana.

Terms and Conditions
  • Tenure of the fellowship will be 3 years. This shall be extended to the 4th and 5th year as per the terms and conditions of the fellowship programme.
  • The tenure of JRF and SRF must not exceed 5 years.
  • The stipend of the research fellow/associate is exempt from the payment of income tax under 10(16) of IT Act, 1961.
  • Incorrect applications will summarily be rejected.
  • No claim shall be entertained in case of an incomplete or non-submitted application.
