Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana, Odisha 2022-23 is an initiative of the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha to students who are pursuing UG/PG courses, technical and professional courses from SAMS and Non-SAMS institutions (i.e. UGC/ AICTE/ MCI affiliated Universities/ Management/ Engineering and Technical institutions) inside and outside Odisha. The financial assistance will be offered on means basis to General, OBC, SC/ST, SEBC/EBC category students. The objective of the scholarship is to encourage and motivate students of Odisha to pursue higher studies. The selected students will receive financial assistance of INR 20,000 per annum.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a permanent resident of Odisha
- belong to any of the following categories of families -
- HIV/AIDS affected family (either father or mother or both)
- households without shelter
- manual scavengers
- particularly vulnerable tribal groups
- legally released bonded labourers
- single mother family (a mother who has a dependent child or dependent children and who is widowed, divorced or unmarried)
- have enrolled in a graduate and postgraduate course at a recognized College/ Institute/ University in the state of Odisha
- have an annual family income of less than INR 10,000
Benefits The selected students will receive financial assistance of INR 20,000 per annum.
Documents - Aadhaar card of student
- Income certificate of the parent/ guardian
- Residence certificate of student
- Copy of passbook of bank account with an account number and IFSC code of the bank branch
- Passport-size photograph of student
- College ID card of the student
- HIV/AIDS affected parents' certificate
- Households without shelter certificate of the student
- Destitute/Living on alms certificate
- Manual scavengers certificate
- Particularly vulnerable tribal groups' certificate
- Legally released bonded labourers certificate
- Single mother family certificate
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email Id.)
Step 3: Click on the 'Registration' button on the top of the dashboard and tick on the terms and conditions checkbox.
Step 4: Fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note - If already registered, log in using valid credentials.)
Step 5: After successful registration, fill in the required details and submit.

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. In case of a tie, students with lower annual household incomes will be given preference.

Terms and Conditions
- The student can avail financial assistance under this scheme even if the student is in receipt of financial assistance under other schemes.
- Financial assistance is limited to the normal duration of the course and will be given each year till the completion of the course.
