About The Program

Free Books Scheme for SC Students, Haryana 2024-25 is an opportunity offered by the Department of Welfare of Scheduled Caste & Backward Classes, Government of Haryana, to promote higher education among the Scheduled Caste (SC) community students of the state. Selected students will receive an amount of ₹2,000 per student for the purchase of books and a monthly stipend of ₹1,000.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be domiciled in Haryana
  • belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community
  • be enrolled in a government college located within the state
  • have obtained at least 60% attendance 

Note:- The student with less than 60% attendance will not be paid a stipend for that particular bi-monthly period. However, they can be considered for payment of the withheld stipend if they fulfil the attendance condition in the next two months. This means they will receive a stipend for four months instead of two. 

Benefits

Selected students will receive an amount of ₹2,000 per student for the purchase of books and a monthly stipend of ₹1,000.

An additional stipend amount of ₹500 per month for 12 months for SC students availing hostel facilities will also be transferred through PFMS by the Head Quarter in two half-yearly instalments: from July to December and January to June.

Documents

Applicants are required to submit a photocopy of the following documents:-

  • Caste certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Disability certificate (if applicable)
  • Marksheet/certificates of the previous examination passed based on which the applicant has sought admission in the present class
How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID)
Step 3: Navigate to 'Student Registration', under the 'Student' section at the top left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 4: Enter the Parivar Pehchaan Patra (Family ID), choose the applicant's name from the displayed list, and click the 'Generate OTP' button.
Step 5: Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and click on the 'Verify OTP' button.
Step 6: After OTP verification, all the details get auto-filled in the registration form. Please cross-check the information.
Step 7: Select the Department and College, create a password, and click on the 'Register' button.
Step 8: Click the login link at the portal and enter valid credentials to apply for the scholarship.
Step 9: Provide all necessary details like course, roll no., eligibility, etc.
Step 10: Click on the 'Apply' button to save and submit the application.

  • Students who failed the previous year's university examination will not be eligible for the stipend.
  •  
  • The stipend will be paid to students for twelve months in a year, from July to June.
  • One account in the name of each college shall be opened in a nationalised bank. This account shall be operated by the Principal or Nodal Officer of the college.
  • An account in the name of each Scheduled Caste (SC) student who is admitted to the college shall be opened in a nationalised bank located nearest to the college.
  • The Principal of the college will decide the bank branch where the accounts are to be opened, but it should be the nearest branch to the college. The authorised person, who shall be either the Principal or Nodal Officer of the same college, shall be responsible for opening accounts for admitted students. The account opened in the student's name shall include all details about the student and their parent/guardian.
