About The Program
DRDO HEMRL Internship 2026 is offered by the High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. This prestigious opportunity is designed to provide practical research experience to outstanding students pursuing engineering and science courses. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 for a duration of 6 months along with a completion certificate.
EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- pursuing an Engineering Degree (7th/ 8th semester) or M.Tech (1st / 2nd year) or M. Sc (1st / 2nd year) full-time course
- pursue full-time courses in one of the following disciplines: Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Computer Engineering
- have a good academic track record with ≥60% marks or ≥6.5 CGPA on a scale of 10
- have a referral letter from the Principal or Director of their institution
- be below 28 years of age
Note: The institution's Principal/Director should provide the request letter for highly deserving meritorious students only.

Terms and Conditions
- Stipend will be paid in two installments after completion of 3 months each.
- Students must maintain a minimum of 15 working days per month of physical attendance at HEMRL.
- No boarding or lodging expenses are provided.
- A certificate of completion will be issued only after clearing the project evaluation and submission of the project report.
- HEMRL/DRDO has no obligation to offer employment after internship completion.
- Students leaving before 3 months will receive no payment or certificate.
