About The Program
The DRDO DRDE Internship 2026 is offered by the Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. This internship is designed to provide hands-on research exposure to meritorious Indian students pursuing graduate and postgraduate courses in science and engineering disciplines, aligning them with advanced defence R&D activities. Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian citizen
- be below 28 years of age (as on 25 January 2026)
- have a minimum of 75% marks or a CGPA ≥ 7.5
- studying in an AICTE or UGC approved institution
- have a recent referral or sponsorship letter from the college or university
Subject-wise eligibility for the applicants:-
Biological Sciences
- M.Sc. (3rd/4th Semester) or equivalent
- Biotechnology / Microbiology / Pharmacology / Toxicology / Immunology
Chemical Sciences
- M.Sc. (3rd/4th Semester) or equivalent
- Organic / Inorganic / Analytical Chemistry
Engineering
- B.E./B.Tech (7th/8th Semester)
- Electronics / Mechanical / IT / Computer Science
Benefits
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, paid in two instalments:
- ₹15,000 after 3 months
- ₹15,000 after completion of 6 months

- Boarding and lodging are not provided for the internship.
- Working hours will be as per the Lab time.
- Electronic gadgets (such as mobile phones, laptops, and pen drives) are not allowed inside the campus.
- The decision of the Director, DRDE Gwalior, will be final in case of any discrepancy.
- The student will be required to submit a progress report after 03 months and a project report after 06 months/ completion of the course.
