About The Program

The Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award is offered by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. This prestigious award recognises and financially supports outstanding students from the Scheduled Castes who have excelled in their senior secondary (Class 12th) examinations. Selected candidates will receive an award ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 based on their rank and stream.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • have appeared in the regular class 12th examination from any recognised state/central board
  • have secured not less than 50% marks in aggregate in the examination
  • be among the top three rank holders in their respective stream and board

Note: For Class 12th, awards are distributed across four streams: Arts, Science (with Maths), Science (without Maths), and Commerce.

Benefits

The selected students will receive the following cash awards:

For Class 12th (Senior Secondary):

  • First Position: ₹60,000 per stream
  • Second Position: ₹50,000 per stream
  • Third Position: ₹40,000 per stream
  • Special Award for Top Girl Students: ₹20,000 each (for the next three highest-scoring girls in each stream)
How can you apply?

Eligible applicants are selected through the following process:

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: No direct application required from students.
Step 4: The Board/Council conducting the examination automatically sends details of top-scoring SC students to Dr. Ambedkar Foundation within 15 days of result announcement.
Step 5: The Foundation processes the proposals and directly sends award amounts to selected students.
Step 6: Selected students may be invited to New Delhi for a felicitation ceremony, where travel expenses will be reimbursed.
