About The Program

The Directorate General of Foreign Internship Programme 2025 is an opportunity provided by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for Indian nationals holding a graduation degree. It aims to familiarise interns with the overall formulation process of foreign trade policies at the macro level and their implementation by the DGFT at the micro level. Selected candidates will receive ₹10,000 per month and a completion certificate.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national residing in India or pursuing studies abroad
  • have an excellent academic record
  • hold a graduation degree in Public Policy/Economics/Finance/Management/Law with at least 60% marks
  • have obtained their graduation degree from National Schools of Law/Central Universities/AICTE recognised Financial/Economics Institutions/recognised National Management Institutes/Foreign Universities or other institutions of excellence

Note:- Applicants pursuing/having a postgraduate degree in Economics/Finance/ Management/Law
will receive preference.

Benefits

Selected candidates will receive:-

  • A consolidated token remuneration of ₹10,000 per month
  • A completion certificate upon submission and evaluation of their report/paper

Note:-

  • The remuneration is not to be considered as salary, and the internship does not guarantee permanent positions at DGFT in the future.
  • The duration of this internship is a maximum of 2 months (June to July).

Note:- Applicants must provide a permission letter if they join the internship during their coursework.

Selection Criteria

A selection committee will review all applications and send offers via email to selected candidates, depending on slot availability, division consent, and authority approval. The selection committee's decision is final, and no queries will be entertained after the selection process.
