About The Program
The Dalai Lama Trust Scholarship 2025 is designed to empower students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. It is offered by the Dalai Lama Trust, supporting students who demonstrate academic potential, strong moral character, or come from financially challenged backgrounds. Selected candidates will receive fully funded scholarships.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian citizen and resident of Himachal Pradesh
- fulfil one of the following eligibility criteria
Undergraduate Applicants:
- display strong academic performance, however, failed to excel in the Class 12 board exam, OR
- be responsible, sincere, honest, and bear good moral conduct, OR
- be orphaned, semi-orphaned or belong to a destitute family
Postgraduate Applicants:
- have been awarded undergraduate scholarships by the Dalai Lama Trust
Benefits
100 undergraduate scholarships for a minimum duration of 3 years, and 5 postgraduate scholarships are available for eligible candidates.
These scholarships are fully funded and are sent directly to the candidate’s personal bank accounts, preferably an SBI account. Hence, selected candidates must open an account in SBI if they lack one.

Terms and Conditions
- Vocational courses are excluded from this scholarship.
- If the applicant has taken a gap year, reasons must be specified in the application.
- Applicants and their parents must have a Green Book (GB), with contributions paid by 31 March 2024.
- If the parents are in Tibet, deceased, or separated, this must be noted in ‘Form-A’ by the Tibetan Settlement Officer.
- A valid Registration Certificate (RC) is required, and those from Nepal, Bhutan, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and Gangtok need a recommendation in ‘Form-A’ confirming their status as genuine Tibetan refugees.
