About The Program

Chevening Research, Science, and Innovation Leadership Fellowship (CRISP) 2025-26 is an opportunity hosted by St. Cross College, University of Oxford for postgraduate level students. It aims to provide financial support to mid-career professionals with very high potential in the fields of science, innovation, and business in India. The program is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office. The selected candidates will receive full programme fees and other expenses.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • Be a citizen of India and currently residing in the country
  • Return to India at the end of the fellowship
  • Not hold British or dual-British citizenship
  • Have at least seven years of relevant work experience prior to applying
  • Have a demonstrable commitment to innovation, and the experience and aptitude to contribute to the programme
  • have a postgraduate level qualification and an excellent academic background in science, engineering, or technology, or equivalent professional training, or experience in a relevant area at the time of application
  • have a working knowledge of English
  • agree to adhere to all relevant guidelines and expectations for the fellowship

Successful individuals may have significant experience as:

  • Executives of service companies, manufacturing businesses, or state-owned companies
  • Entrepreneurs and individuals who serve and fund the entrepreneurial community
  • Research scientists
  • Academics and public-sector employees

Note:- Employees/relatives of an employee of the UK government, the British Council, a sponsoring UK university or a staff of the Association of Commonwealth Universities are ineligible for this fellowship.

Selection Criteria

The selection will be made based on the assessment of applications by independent reading committees. The candidates will be shortlisted by the British embassies/high commission. Post that, the students will undergo an interview for the final selection.

Terms and Conditions
  • The candidates must not accept any other form of public funding during the tenure of the fellowship.
  • Candidates must inform the Chevening secretariat/ fellowship committee of any funding/employment/internship opportunities outside of the fellowship program that they have applied for, or are offered, within the fellowship tenure.
  • Candidates cannot change their course of study to something other than what is mentioned in their final award letter.
  • Misinformation, misconduct, and failure to continue studies will result in the termination of the fellowship.
