About The Program

Charpak Exchange Scholarship 2024 is an initiative by Campus France India for Indian students pursuing bachelor's or master's degrees. The scholarship aims to support Indian students who wish to undertake an exchange semester in France. Selected students will receive a living allowance of EUR 860, along with other benefits.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national residing in India or an OCI card holder
  • be no more than 30 years old (maximum at the time of application)
  • be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree
  • be currently enrolled in an Indian institution of higher learning that has a tie-up with the French institution where the applicant will pursue an exchange semester (mandatory)
  • be nominated by their home institution to participate in the programme

Non-eligibility:-

  • Applicants who have been accepted for a study exchange semester and students undertaking a thesis, research project, or internship as part of their exchange are NOT eligible to apply.
Benefits

Selected candidates will receive the following benefits:-

  • A living allowance of EUR 860
  • Social security
  • A waiver for the student visa and Campus France fees
  • Assistance in finding affordable student accommodation
Documents
  • Passport-sized formal photograph
  • Scanned copy of the first passport page (photo and expiry date)
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) (maximum 2 pages)
  • Admission/acceptance letter from a French institution/laboratory
  • Scanned mark sheets for Higher Secondary School (Class 12), Bachelor's, and Master's degrees
  • French language certificate (if applicable: DELF/DALF, recognized university, or Xth marks card)
  • NOC from the Indian institution
  • Employment/internship record (if applicable)
  • French language certificate from Alliance Française in India or a recognized university (if applicable)
  • Recommendation letter from the university (optional)
  • Statement of purpose (format available on the scholarship form)
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the steps mentioned below:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to 'Application Procedure' and click on the given link.
Step 4: Click on the 'Create Account' and click on it.
Step 5: Fill in the details in the 'Register' tab. (Note:- Applicants who are already registered can directly log in.)
Step 6: Once registered successfully, log in with valid credentials and fill in the required details.
Step 7: Upload the supporting documents and submit the application.

Important Dates

Opening of the Call for Applications: 2nd September 2024
Application Deadline: 21st October 2024
Publication of Result: 3rd week of November

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected based on academic excellence and the quality and consistency of their statement of purpose.

Evaluation Process:

  • Received applications will be reviewed to verify eligibility.
  • The selection committee will evaluate academic excellence, consistency, and the quality of the statement of purpose. No minimum CGPA or percentage is required.
  • A plagiarism check will be conducted on the statement of purpose. AI tools are discouraged, and applications with significant AI-generated content will be disqualified.
  • Incomplete or unsuccessful applicants cannot hold the French Embassy responsible.
Terms and Conditions
  • The final semester project and laboratory research in a partner institute in France do not apply to this scholarship program.
  • All supporting documents must be in Word, PDF, or JPEG format (RTF, ODT, TXT, MSG documents, ZIP folders, screenshots, or scans of social media are not acceptable).
  • No reason will be given for the rejection of an application.
  • The French Embassy is not obligated to respond to candidates with incomplete applications.  
  • The exchange semester program duration is one to four months.
