About The Program

The Cambridge Digital Minds Fellowship 2026 is offered by the Cambridge Digital Minds (University of Cambridge) in partnership with Rethink Priorities and PRISM. The fellowship is an intensive residential programme designed to build capacity in the digital minds space — combining technical and philosophical foundations, societal and policy thinking, and structured support for project development. Selected candidates will receive a £1,000 stipend along with fully covered travel and accommodation.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be a graduate student, postdoc, early-career academic, or
  • professional in government, policy, or industry, or
  • have a demonstrated interest in or prior engagement with AI consciousness, AI welfare, or digital minds research

Note:- Exceptional earlier-stage individuals with strong demonstrated ability and commitment to digital minds questions may also be considered.

Benefits

The selected fellows will receive:-

  • A stipend of £1,000 (approx. ₹1,22,762.10) 
  • Fully funded travel to and from Cambridge
  • Fully funded accommodation at Jesus College, University of Cambridge
  • Expert mentorship from a leading researcher in digital minds
  • A direct invitation to the Digital Minds Strategy Workshop (Aug 8–9, 2026)
