About The Program

The BCWD Fee Concession Scheme, Karnataka 2026 is offered by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka. The objective of this scheme is to reimburse tuition fees for students who secured seats in the government quota studying in the postmatric courses in government/ local body/ aided institutions/ recognised unaided private local bodies under the statutory universities/ deemed universities. Selected candidates will receive tuition fee reimbursement.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Karnataka
  • belong to the OBC list notified by the central/state
  • be students of government quota in regular postmatric courses
  • be pursuing studies in government/ local body/ aided institutions/ recognised unaided private local bodies under the statutory universities/ deemed universities
  • have an annual family income not exceeding ₹2,50,000 (Category 1) or ₹1,00,000 (Category 2A, 3A, 3B)
  • have passed the previous year's annual examination with a minimum mark of 50% (Category 1 and visually disabled) or 60% (others)

Note:-

  • Students who changed courses more than once are ineligible.
  • Postgraduate medical students are ineligible if they are practising medicine during the duration of their course.
  • Students studying under distance education, open university, evening college and management quota, private seat in private college and ComedK seat type students are ineligible.
  • Only two boys of the same family are eligible. However, this rule does not apply to girls.

The following five fees, or the fees determined by the department, whichever is lower; shall be payable according to the rates set by the government for courses in government colleges:

  • Tuition fees
  • Laboratory fee (if mandatory)
  • Test/exam cost
  • Sports fees
  • Library fees

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:-
Step 1:
