Asian Development Bank Japan Scholarship Program 2026

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be a national of an ADB borrowing member country and  Japanese ODA scholarship-eligible country.
• not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
• have admission to an approved master’s course at a Designated Institution.
• hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with a superior academic record
• have at least 2 years of full-time professional experience after the university degree
• be proficient in oral and written English
• not be older than 35 at application time, unless waived by the Government of Japan
• Must be in good health
• agree to return and work in the home country for at least 2 years after completion
• not be an ADB executive director, management, staff, consultant, or close relative of these persons
• not be staff of ADB-JSP Designated Institutions.
• not be living or working outside the home country
• not already be enrolled in graduate degree programs

The selected scholars shall receive: 

• Full tuition fees
• Monthly subsistence allowance (including housing)
• Books and instructional materials
• Medical insurance
• Travel expenses

• Curriculum Vitae
• Academic transcripts

Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Identify your research interests and visit the relevant department or the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS) website to review faculty profiles.
Step 4: Examine their profiles and reach out to them if their area of expertise aligns with your interests. 
Step 5: Upload application materials to a designated URL. 
Once your application is accepted, you have to submit the documents for the scholarship application.
