Arturo Falaschi PhD Fellowships, ICGEB, New Delhi 2023-24 is an opportunity offered by the International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) to highly motivated M.Sc. degree holders. The aim of this fellowship programme is to provide an opportunity for the fellows to obtain the “Doctor Philosophiae” (PhD) degree in the life sciences. The title can be awarded through a number of academic institutions of international standing, which include the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. The selected fellows will receive US$ 1,020 and other benefits.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, the applicant must -
- be a National of an ICGEB member state (which includes India)
- hold an M.Sc. degree to pursue research at ICGEB Campus, New Delhi
- have a good working knowledge of the English language, supported by a proficiency certificate (TOEFL, Cambridge certificate or equivalent) [Note - Not required when scholastic education has been undertaken in English]
Benefits The selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of US$ 1,020.

- Travel expenses from the applicant's home country to the ICGEB lab at the beginning of the fellowship and a return travel provision upon completion of the fellowship

Note - ICGEB makes no financial provision, nor can it provide administrative support for family members of participants in the programme.
Documents - Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- English Language Certificate (TOEFL/Cambridge etc.) [Note - This document is mandatory for Trieste and is not requested when scholastic education has been undertaken in English.]
- Academic records (diploma certificates and transcripts giving detailed information on all courses/final examinations completed, credit value or hours per course and grades received
- Written Statement from the ICGEB Group Leader
- A valid identification document (passport or identity card) [Note - Recommended passport validity should be 12 months at least]
How can you apply? The applicants can apply for the fellowship by using the below-mentioned steps -

Selection Criteria
The ICGEB fellowships selection committee will evaluate complete and endorsed applications received by the closing date. The main criteria for selection include -
- The scientific excellence of the project
- The qualities of the candidate’s CV and potential benefit for the home country

- The university tuition fee is covered for the entire Ph.D. registration period.
- ICGEB makes no financial provision, nor can it provide administrative support for family members of participants in the program.
- Support for participation in meetings and courses is generally provided by the Group Leader/PI.

- The candidates will be notified of the outcome by email as soon as possible following the closing date for applications.
