World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2018 invites applications from college students and any forest/environment or general management professional. The contest aims to spread the main messages of World Forestry Day to mass audience and bring together the similar minded people and professionals.
World Forestry Day Photography Contest 2018
DeadlineClosed Eligibility - Any student who is enrolled in any of the recognised college or university of India is eligible.
- A forest/environment or general management professional is also eligible to participate.
- The members of the organising team are not eligible to participate.
- The employees of IIFM Bhopal may participate in the contest subject to them meeting the basic eligibility critera, however, they will not be eligible for any prize money.
Benefits The three top winners of the contest will win a cash prize of INR 25,000, INR 20,000 and INR 15,000, respectively. Also, the entries which will qualify the screening round may be shortlisted for the exhibition.
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can participate by following the steps given below:
Step 1: Applicant must send the soft copy of the photograph at the email: bvec@iifm.ac.in in which the file name of the image should be in the format: Contestant First Name_College/ organisation.
Step 2: Also, send the printout of the photograph (8×10 inch) to the address mentioned below:

Note: Mention the name, contact no. & email id of the contestant, location, date, time and caption of the photograph on the backside of the printout.
Important Dates
Last date of submission of the entry: 31 December 2018
Date of result announcement: February 2019
Exhibition of the shortlisted photographs: 21 March 2019
Selection Criteria
All the entries will be evaluated by a panel of experts who will select the photographs on the basis of the following criteria.
- Creative communication of the key message
- Quality of the photograph (Sharpness, colours, exposure, etc)
Screening round may be included during the evaluation where an individual judge will shortlist the 10% of the total entries given to him/her. Then, all the shortlisted entries will be pooled together from different judges and based on the score from a panel of three judges, the winning entries will be selected.
Terms and Conditions
- Those entry photographs which will violate forest conservation ideals will be disqualified from the contest.
- The participants must look after the ideals of flora and fauna conservation while taking photographs.
- The photos must be taken in India by the participant himself/herself.
- Each participant is can submit a maximum of 2 photographs.
- Exif content for the image must be intact so that the date of the day when the photograph was taken is visible.
- The size of the images must be minimum 1024×768 pixel.
- All the entries must be original and should be in JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG or RAW format.
- For any communication delay or lapse, loss or damage to an entry, the organisers will not be held responsible.
- The final winners will be declared at the prize giving ceremony.
- The judge(s) reserve the right to call for original files to verify the authentication of the images.
