Women Techmakers Scholars Program - formerly the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship Program is inviting female application for graduates, post graduates or post doctorates in Asia Pacific for academic year 2017. Google is furthering Dr. Anita Borg’s vision of creating gender equality in the field of computer science by encouraging women to excel in computing and technology and become active leaders and role models in the field.

    Eligibility

     

    To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

    • Be a female
    • Currently be enrolled at an accredited university for the 2017-2018 academic year
    • Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time or part-time student in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program at a university in Asia Pacific for the 2017-2018 academic year
    • Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
    • Demonstrate a strong academic record
    • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science
    How can you apply?

    Step1: Go to https://www.womentechmakers.com/scholars

    Step2: Read the instructions as given

    Step3: Be prepared with the following documents:

    • General background information (includes contact information and information about your current and intended institutions)
    • Current resume
    • Academic transcripts from your current and prior institutions (if you have earned a prior degree)
    • Responses to four essay questions

    Step4: Click on the 'Apply Now' Button and follow the steps as directed.

Terms and Conditions

The Women Techmakers Scholars Program scholarship must be spent on tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for the students' classes at their primary university. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as full-time students for the 2017-2018 academic year. Enrollment will be verified after the winners are selected, and all scholarship payments will be made directly to the student to be used towards tuition and education-related expenses. We will withhold the award for any scholar who no longer meets the eligibility requirements. Current Google employees are not eligible to apply for the Women Techmakers Scholars Program. Persons who are

(1) residents of embargoed countries,

(2) ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or

(3) otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs may not apply for this scholarship.

Google may retain anonymized versions of application submissions as a reference for future scholarship review.

The Women Techmakers Scholarship is a one-time scholarship. While past applicants and finalists are encouraged to reapply, unfortunately, past recipients of any Google scholarship, including the Women Techmakers Scholarship and Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship, are not eligible to apply.

This scholarship is closed for further applications. It is expected to be launched by July, 2024. You can follow this scholarship for further updates.
