About The Program

Women Scientist Scheme-B (WOS-B) 2018-19 invites applications from women scientists and technologists who are taking a break in their career. This scheme aims to encourage the selected candidates to utilise their knowledge and zeal for the benefit of society. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
  • Women scientists or technologists are eligible to apply.
  • The applicants must have done Ph.D. in Basic/Applied Sciences or M.Sc. in Basic/Applied Sciences or M.Phil/M.Tech/M.Pharm/M.VSc or equivalent degree or B.Tech. or MBBS or other equivalent professional qualification. 
  • The applicants must fall in the age group of 27 to 57 years. 
  • The applicants must be having a break in their career.

Note: In case of SC/ST/OBC and Physically challenged categories, the candidates would get an age relaxation of 5 years.

 

Benefits
  • The selected candidates with Ph.D. in Basic/Applied Sciences or equivalent degree will get a consolidated fellowship amount of INR 55,000 per month for a maximum period of three years. The total project cost must not exceed INR 30 Lakh.
  • The candidates with M.Phil/M.Tech/M.Pharm/M.VSc or equivalent degree will get a consolidated fellowship amount of INR 40,000 per month for a maximum period of three years. The total project cost must not be more than INR 25 Lakh.
  • The candidates with M.Sc. in Basic/Applied Science or B.Tech/MBBS or equivalent degree will get a consolidated fellowship amount of INR 30,000 per month for a maximum period of three years. The total project cost must not exceed INR 20 Lakh.

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply online by following the step mentioned below:

Step 1: Click here to apply on e-PMS. 
Step 2: Now, click on 'New PI Registration'.
Step 3: Fill the form to register as the new user.
Step 4: On registering for the scheme, user ID and link to generate password is sent on the registered email ID.
Step 5: Generate the password and use the User ID & password to login on e-PMS.
Step 6: Fill all the required details and upload the required documents.
Step 7: Finally, submit the form.
Step 8: Now, send the 2 hard copies of the submitted research proposal by speed post to:

  • The candidates can submit their proposal in the following areas:

Agriculture and Allied Sciences (AAS)
Health, Food and Nutrition (HFN)
Engineering and Technology Development (ETD)

  • Basic research proposal will not be considered.
  • Working women (regular/permanent employees) are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
