About The Program

WISE SCOPE Fellowship program 2024 is an opportunity offered by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, to female scientists and technologists who have completed Ph.D. degree. This fellowship empowers candidates to leverage their knowledge and expertise in science and technology for societal benefit. Selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹ 55,000 along with HRA and other benefits.

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • have completed Ph.D. degree in Basic/Applied Sciences OR
  • hold an equivalent degree such as MD, MS or MDS 
  • be aged between 27-60 years at the time of application submission
  • not be a regular employee in any organisation

 

Note:- 

  • Women candidates who are temporarily employed in academics and research are eligible to apply. However, if selected for this fellowship, they must resign from their current positions.
  • Applicants in any project placed as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate, etc. will be considered under a temporary assignment.
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

  • A monthly fellowship of ₹55,000 and HRA as per norms
  • An annual research grant of ₹2,00,000
  • Field demonstration cost of ₹1,00,000 for project tenure
  • Small equipment costs up to ₹2,00,000 along with institutional overhead charges as per DST norms

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the mentor (size: max 500KB)
  • Conflict of Interest Policy document (size: max 800KB)
  • Endorsement from Head of the Institute (size: max 800KB)
  • Complete project proposal (size: max 5MBeach)
  • Highest degree certificate (size: max 800KB)
  • Consent letter from mentor (size: max 800KB)
  • Undertaking (size: max 800KB)
  • HRA declaration certificate (size: max 800KB)
  • Date of birth proof (size: max 800KB)

Note: All documents must be submitted in PDF format. 

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the steps mentioned below:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Click on the ‘New PI registration’ tab. (Note: If already registered click on the login button.) 
Step 4: Fill in the required details to ‘Register’. (Note: Select the designation as ‘WISE-SCOPE Fellow’.)
Step 5: After successful registration, log in using valid credentials and click the given ‘Submit Proposals’ link.
Step 6: Fill in all the information sought against each menu, as applicable, upload the required documents in the prescribed format and submit.

 

Note:-

  • Applicants must enter, review and verify precise details filled in the online application as no change will be possible after clicking ‘Submit Proposal’. 
  • The formats for annexures can be downloaded from the ‘Fellowship Detail Document’.
Important Dates

Applications for the fellowship can be submitted at any time of the year.

Selection Criteria

The selection will be made based on various factors including the preliminary screening of eligibility, applicant’s credentials, identified societal challenge, the scientific methodology proposed, the expected beneficiary on the ground by the outcome of the project, etc. 
The final selection will be based on the recommendations of the Subject Expert Committees (SECs). Applicants will be notified of the Department of Science and Technology's (DST's) final decision after all necessary administrative and financial clearances are received.

Terms and Conditions
  • Submission of proposals will only be accepted through online mode.
  • The application must be reviewed by the Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure it is complete before final submission. The PI shall keep a copy of the submitted proposal for their reference. 
  • There is no need to submit a hard copy of the proposal at the DST.
  • If a Principal Investigator (PI) submits multiple proposals, only the latest one will be considered for evaluation.
  • Incomplete applications, wrong application formats, applications with incorrect information or applications with a lack of essential information/documents will be immediately rejected.
  • Proposals submitted through email will not be accepted.
