About The Program

West Bengal Pre Matric Scholarship 2022-23 is an opportunity offered by the West Bengal Minorities Development & Finance Corporation under the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Government of West Bengal to provide financial assistance to minority students of West Bengal studying from Class 1 to 10. The scholarship aims to encourage minority community people to send their children to schools and prevent drop-out cases. The selected meritorious students will be able to receive maintenance allowance and other benefits.

EligibilityDeadline Date : Closed

To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must - 

  • be a domicile of West Bengal
  • belong to the minority section of West Bengal
  • be studying Class 1 to 10 in a School/Institution recognized by an educational Board/University of the State/Central Government
  • have secured at least 50% marks or equivalent in the previous examination
  • have a family income of less than INR 2 lakh per annum

 

Note – The students pursuing their studies outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scholarship.

Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the awards in the following way - 

Class 1 to 5 Students - 

  • Maintenance Allowance – INR 1,100 (for day scholars)

 

Class 6 to 10 Students (For Day Scholars) - 

  • Admission fee & tuition fee – INR 4,400
  • Maintenance Allowance – INR 1,100

 

Class 6 to 10 students (For Hostellers)

  • Admission fee & tuition fee – INR 4,400
  • Maintenance Allowance – INR 6,600
Documents

After online submission of the application, the applicants have to submit the hard copy of the completed application form with the following documents to the concerned institute - 

  • Photocopy of bank passbook containing IFSC code and account number
  • Self-declaration of annual family income
How can you apply?

Follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the scholarship - 

Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below and read all the details.
Step 2: Click on 'Apply Online', navigate to 'Student's Area' and click on 'New Registration'. 
Step 3: Select the district where the applicant's institute is situated and click on 'Proceed'.
Step 4: Fill in the required details under the 'Student Information' and 'Scheme Eligibility' sections and Register.
Step 5: After successful registration, log in using the registered user ID and password.
Step 6: Fill in the application form, upload the relevant documents and submit.

 

Note - Submit the hard copy of the application form with the photocopies of the bank passbook to the concerned institute.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

  • The scholarship amount will be credited to the student’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
  • The students applying for this scholarship should fulfil the attendance criteria of the institute in which they are enrolled.
  • The students can avail scholarship from any one source only.
  • The students pursuing courses through distance mode are not eligible. 
  • A maximum of two applications can be made through one mobile number.
